Blue Crab Surf

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery, an online fine art gallery representing an international roster of artists, (www.lightspacetime.com announced the results of their 4th Annual “SeaScapes” art competition.

I am pleased to announce that my work, Blue Crab Surf, was included as one of the winners of the Special Merit Award Category – These are the artists and their artwork which the gallery felt could easily have been placed higher but due to the size constraints 647 worldwide entries in each media category, this art was placed in this special category. Any of the Special Merit art, in many cases, is interchangeable with the best art that we selected for the top tiers.

Our art competition for August was the 4th Annual “SeaScapes” and 2D and 3D artists (including photography) from around the world were called upon to make online submissions for possible inclusion in to the Gallery’s September 2014 online group art exhibition. The “SeaScapes” theme was considered to be any art with the subjects being scenes of coastal living, any ocean activities, seaside vistas and any related seashore subjects for inclusion into this art exhibition.

This art competition and the submission process and competition for the artists began in July 2014 and concluded on August 27, 2014. The gallery received 647 entries from 19 different countries from around the world, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Cyprus, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine and the United Kingdom. In addition, the gallery received entries from 38 different states.

Due to the volume of entries the gallery felt that it was necessary to create two (2) media categories. The media categories are Painting & Other and Photography & Digital. In addition, for this particular competition we have an overall Winning Artists Category, which is the “best of the best” and consists of the ten (10) best entries from the 2 media categories.

We also included Special Merit awards and Special Recognition awards for outstanding art this month. The artists in either of these groups could have easily been included in the upper tier of our winners, as their art was exceptional.
